PETERBOROUGH, ON (August 11, 2021)-  Any experienced traveler will tell you that it isn’t about the journey, it’s the destination.

Motorsports fans in Central Ontario are setting their GPS for Canada’s Toughest 1/3-Mile Oval as an exciting month of summer racing continues.

“With a combination of home track favourites and touring series, we’re showcasing the best of the bunch all month,” Peterborough Speedway owner/promoter J.P. Josiasse confirmed. “Saturday, August 14 we have the Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stock, Jiffy Lube Mini Stock, Trent Lakes Complete Plumbing Renegade Truck and Late Model divisions, plus the Ontario Modifieds Racing Series and Trailers Plus Ontario Legends Series. Grandstand gates open at 4:00, with the first green flag at 5:00.”

Fans at the popular local speed plant on Mount Pleasant Road, west of the Liftlock City have been lucky enough to be front row centre for some of the summer’s most exciting racing battles. From Matt Haufe’s last-lap pass to score an Ontario Legends Series victory, to an OMRS checkered flag fight between John Baker Jr. and Chad Strawn that saw the drivers exchange a post-race hug in the winner’s circle.

Most recently, a strong crowd Saturday, August 7 was able to see home track Super Stock driver Tyler Bouillon score an upset win in caution-free Ontario Sportsman Series main event for the first victory of his career. This year’s schedule has had a little bit of everything.

To guarantee provincial government required contact tracing, advance grandstand admission passes for the Saturday, August 14 event – which now includes a pair of Trent Lakes Complete Plumbing Renegade Truck feature races – are available now. Visit www.eventsprout.com/events/peterborough-speedway-2000-ltd for details. Tickets for the remaining events on the 2021 regular season can be purchased at the same site.
