May 14, 2014- It had been several months since Stephane Lafrance last strapped into his 358 Modified at Brockville Speedway. The long off-season had no effect at all on the second-generation racer, as he dominated the Ogilvie’s Triple Crown Series event to open the season at the BOS.
Lafrance had the fastest car on the track right from the opening practice session. He backed that up by setting fast time in qualifying, won his heat race, and led 43 laps of the 50 lap main event after taking the lead on lap seven. The opening night win leaves Lafrance in a great position as he looks to conquer the Brockville Speedway track tile, as well as the Ogilvie’s Triple Crown Series.
“I was really nervous tonight about how the car would perform. I wanted to get out and test the car first before we raced and we never got a chance to do that because of the weather”, says Lafrance. “I have to thank my team, all of my sponsors and our great fans for their support, and hopefully this will be a sign of things to come for the 2014 season”.
Lafrance will return to Brockville Speedway this coming Saturday night looking to get back to victory lane the second consecutive week. On Sunday, Stephane will roll into Cornwall Speedway for their opening night featuring a 100 lap 358 Modified DIRTcar Series/Canadian Nationals Series event.
“We are excited about starting the season with a win, but we have a lot of work to do yet”, adds Lafrance. “We want to make sure that this car will perform on all types of track conditions. That is what we have worked hard on over the off-season on my new cars”.
The success of Stephane Lafrance would not be possible without the support of the great sponsors and partners that have come on board. These sponsors include Bandit Motorsports, Trick Race Parts, Techno Metal Post, Sakou & Claudie, ERD Racing Engines, JCCayer.com, NewYorkPowerTools.com, Machabee Farm Recycling & Trucking, ICM Enterprise, City A1 Rad, Denny’s Restaurant, Casselman Cement, Les Production Monte Cristo, Group IGS, Metal Fab, Bert Transmission and Savage Electric.
