JASON PARKER: After kick-starting his 2012 with an inaugural trip to New Smyrna Speedway’s World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing, 2010 Sauble Speedway track champion Jason Parker has finalized his plans for the remainder of his 2012 campaign.
The Port Elgin, ON veteran will return to Sauble for a fulltime pursuit of a second Limited Late Model championship, with the same chassis that travelled to New Smyrna in February. ‘The New Age Punisher’ will also continue to build on his Pro Late Model program, as his Prestige Contracting sponsored team has signed on to compete in Sunset Speedway’s recently announced 4-race mini-series, slated for May 27th, June 17th, July 11th and August 15th.
WILLIE REYNS: 2-time Kawartha Speedway Thunder Car champion ‘Fast Time’ Willie Reyns will once again compete as part of the Frank Kimmel Street Stock Nationals when the tour visits Rockingham Speedway on April 14th. The Port Elgin, ON product made his Kimmel debut in the tour’s Polar Bear 150 at Rockingham on November 26th, placing 28th out of 53 cars. Support for Reyns’ trip will come from Cobourg Development Services, Pursey’s Yacht Portage, Appleman Carstar, Don Stacey Electric, Kelly’s Homelike Inn and ACME Electric.
JAY DOERR: 2011 Lucas Oil Sportsman Cup champion Jay Doerr will return to the seven-race tour to defend his championship in 2012. After acting as a driver/owner for the entirety of his LOSC career, 2012 will see Doerr drive for new car owner Phil McCarthy, piloting the same equipment that earned him the 2011 title. The London, ON driver will also return to the Delaware Speedway Late Model division fulltime, after a part time schedule in 2011. Once Upon A Child will return to provide primary sponsorship for Doerr, with additional support coming from Designs Signs & Markings.
JEFF WALT: Former Limited Late Model regular Jeff Walt is hoping to compete part time with the new OSCAAR Modified tour in 2012. The 25-year old will return as a member of JR Fitzpatrick’s NASCAR Canadian Tire Series team, and hopes to debut his modified by mid-summer.
