If you are looking for something to do with the family this coming week during March Break – visit Merrittville Speedway’s Race Car Show at the Seaway Mall in Welland. Drivers from each of the 5 Lucas Oil Weekly Racing Series Divisions will have their cars on display from March 12th to March 17th.
The Seaway Mall is the way to big brands and better prices and the way to a fuller shopping cart when Target opens in 2013.
From Monday to Friday, the Seaway Mall will be the way to March Break Madness with plenty of activities scheduled in the Sears Court Area.
Disney and Cars Bouncers will split the week and kids can visit with reptiles from the Reptile Kingdom at times Wednesday and Friday with a variety of crafts planned to keep the kids entertained. Help a Child Smile and Star Wars Characters will invade Seaway Mall Saturday in preparation for their Fun Expo Saturday May 26th.
“We are thrilled to partner with the Mall providing race fans from across the Region an opportunity to meet some of their favorite drivers and to get a first-hand look at their race cars,” said Erica Bicknell-Jones, GM of Merrittville Speedway. “with the season a little more than a month away – what better way to treat our fans than with an up-close race experience in an intimate setting – reaching out to shoppers is a valuable tool in attracting new fans with all the March Break activities going on,” she added.
Race Fans can look forward to seeing the brand new cars of 2012 Rookie Drivers Dillan Sliter and Joey Mastroianni who are preparing for their first seasons in the J&S Heating and Air Conditioning Modified Lite and Original Pizza Logs Sportsman Divisions respectively.
Sliter will be joined by his uncle Ray Sliter Jr., and his cousin – defending 2 time Champion Josh Sliter and former champ Paul Klager – all representing the class of cars that are powered by motorcycle engines.
Joining Mastroianni is his team-mate Adam Leslie, BJ Willard, Justin Sharp and Cody McPherson – just some of the Sportsman field that is expected to draw huge fields each week during the season.
The Turn 4 Collision 4 Cylinder Division will see the cars of Rob Overholt, Brandon Iudicianni, Jason Coutu and Kyle Pelrine on display in addition to the full-fendered Hoosier Stocks of Chris Crawford, Kevin Knapp, Jim Lampman and Cory Turner.
Rounding out the line-up of Saturday Night Lucas Oil Weekly Racing Series Stars are the Bobcat of Hamilton 358 Modifieds of Bill Bleich, Chris Steele and defending and 21 time Champion Pete Bicknell.
Merrittville Speedway’s Tuesday Night Lucas Oil Weekly Karting Series Drivers joining the week long display include Alex Riley, Trent Curtis and Austyn Werstroh.
While all the engines of all the Race Cars on display will be silent … they will roar to life when the Seaway Mall opens the first Holiday Doubleheader of the season Saturday May 19th at Merrittville with the Rankin Cancer Run Awareness Night featuring the first round of the Stars North Tour for the Modified Lites.
The Welland shopping destination offers a variety of unique shopping and dining experiences and is home to over 120 stores and services … and for March Break – that includes Merrittville Speedway.
Mall Hours are from 10 AM to 9 PM Monday to Friday … 9:30 to 5:30 Saturday and from 12 Noon to 5 PM on Sunday.
The Seaway Mall is located at 800 Niagara Street in Welland Ontario.
