MERLIN, ON (August 26, 2017)- The Thunder Stock Crates were back at South Buxton Raceway Saturday night. John Lynch #04 took a quick lead at the start of the Feature Race. Veteran South Buxton Racer Steve Shaw #96 was quick to claim the lead for a few laps before Ryan Dinning #8 took home the Feature Win. Dinning, who raced at Oshweken Raceway Friday night, brought home first place. He was excited for his feature win at South Buxton Raceway. He was hopeful for a three -peat as he was headed to Humberstone Raceway Sunday afternoon. Shaw, who said “South Buxton Raceway is the fastest race track in Canada” brought home second place and Mike Miller #73 who said “this place is awesome, its totally different from what I’m used too”, brought home third.

It was a battle of the Swartz cars during the West Side Performance Plus Late Model Feature Race. Dale Glassford #60 and Gregg Haskell #RH21 put on a show for their fans racing neck and neck for the entire feature race. Glassford, who has been suffering from bad luck all season, said he and crew “went over the car from end to end”. He was thankful he finally saw Victory Lane.

He thanked his crew, family, sponsors and fans for all of their support saying “ I never know when I’ll be back here again, but I enjoy looking at all of your faces” .

After an incredible battle with Glassford, Gregg Haskell was passed by his brother Jason RH94 moments before crossing the finish line. Jason Haskell brought home second and Gregg Haskell finished third.

It was a Chatham Pro Shop Mini Mod Feature Win four and a half years in the making. Elliot Wilton #1 brought home his first ever Feature Win. After seeing Andrew Pfahler #7x car starting to smoke and eventually catching fire, Wilton made sure to keep his distance. After the red flag caution and he maintained his lead to collect a Feature win. Wilton thanked his crew, family, sponsors and fans for all of their support. Tim MacKenzie #81 brought home second and Dylan
Wolters #54 brought home third.

“Now, I’m no car guy, But I don’t think brakes are supposed to glow that red”, Track Announcer Dean Outhouse said to Brad Bloomfield #11 following the Sun Parlour Trailer Sport Stock Feature Win.

It was shortly after this comment was made Bloomfields car began to spark and ignited the brake. Thankfully, the South Buxton Fire Team was quick to respond and put the fire out before there was any serious damage. Bloomfield, began the race in third and quickly maneuvered the track to gain and maintain a first place lead. Bloomfield thanked his sponsors, his crew and his fans. Tyler Lozon #66 brought home second and Doris Lajeunesse #38 brought home third.

After a neck and neck race to start off the Schinkels Gourmet Meats Modified Race, Eugene Hoekstra #36 and Denis Deserrano #69 gave fans a show as they battled hard for the lead position. Hoekstra overtook Desserrano and a second battle ensued as Jim Dale #00 was hot on the leaders tail. Beginning the race in fifth position, Dale drove a patient race and waited for just the right moment to overtake the track and battle the race leader. Dale finished the race in second and Brad McLeod #43 brought home third.

After starting the race in the lead position during the Auto Tech Sales and Service Bomber Feature, Bob Hill #02 avoided two red flag cautions and collected his first ever Feature Win. An emotional Hill , thanked his girl friend and fans for all of their support . Chuck Stuart #09 brought home second and Carter Coles #2EZ brought home third.
