Smith Pockets $2,500 With Win in Lafarge Aggregates & Concrete 150

RIVER GLADE, NB (May 18, 2013) – It was Russell Smith Jr. winning the Lafarge Aggregates & Concrete 150 season opener for the GT Enterprises Sportsman division at Petty International Raceway. Smith took home $2,500 for the win Saturday night.

Matt Maillet and Ken MacKenzie finished second and third, respectively. Cory Collins and Claude Gaudet rounded out the top five. Smith, Maillet, and Chris Reid won the sportsman heat races.

Martin Landry won the C Max Body Shop & Paint Supplies Street Stock feature followed to the checkers by Ken MacKenzie Jr, Alexandra O’Blenis, Geoff Tugwell, and Marshall Barry. MacKenzie won the street stock heat race.

Mike Weagle was the winner in the Mister Transmission Mini Stock feature with Brad Daley second and Neal Crawford third. Brady Tayloe and Mike Phillips were fourth and fifth, respectively. Daley won the mini stock heat race.

Drew Greenlaw won the Leisure Days RV Bandolero featue with Ryan Messer second and Cole Tanner third. Adam Meehan was fourth and Braden Langille fifth. Greenlaw and Cole Boudreau won the Bandolero heat races.

Petty International Raceway is back in action May 31/June 1 for its first double-header weekend of the season. The GT Enterprises Sportsman 100 will highlight Friday’s show (May 31) while the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour make their first visit to New Brunswick for 2013 on Saturday (June 1). Seven different divisions will be featured over the two nights. Racing gets underway May 31 at 7:30 p.m. and on June 1 at 6 p.m.
