TMPracing • CAYUGA, ON (September 4th, 2015) –The top 16 Point’s racers from the DSE Sportsman Racing Series are preparing for a big Labour Day weekend Showdown at Toronto Motorsports Park as they look to hit the track Saturday for the 2nd Annual Abruzzi Transmissions and Converters All-Star Race during the 5th Annual Dragstar Racing Components Labour Day Championships presented by Racecards.ca.

Racers qualified by collecting points at the final four events of 2014, and the first five events of 2015. The winner of the Abruzzi Transmission All-Star Race will take home a $1000  cash prize as well the coveted All-Stars Trophy .

Qualifying for Delay Box side of the ladder is KC Kovac, Allan Bain, Steve Ferstl, Claude Losier, Randy Hodges, Nick Costabile, Bob Jennings and Tom Bene. On the No Box side of the ladder there is Bob Richards, Andrew Stirk, Dan Earl, Dave Colavecchia, Jarrod Kolne, Charlene Lepp/Dustin Taylor, Roger Demers and Brad Fraser.

The concept for the event which takes the top five points earners in Super Pro and Modified Eliminator, Top three from Quick 16, Top two from Street Eliminator and Top Super Bike/Sled racer, places them onto a pre-determined Sixteen car ladder similar to events like the NHRA All-Stars races and the  older IHRA Sportsman Shoot-Out events.

“We have always loved the idea of showcasing  Sportsman Racers in events like this. Last year’s All-Star race lived up to the hype as we saw multiple .00 margins of victory and a final round that was decided by a mere .001” said DSE Series Director Andrew Stirk.

Backing this special event for the Canadian based series is Marco Abruzzi and Bob Cireddu from Abruzzi Transmissions and Converters. Located in Warren Ohio, Abruzzi Racing Transmissions, and Converters is an industry leader with many high profile and successful racers from all over Canada and the USA running their product. From Stock vehicles up to 3000 horsepower Top Dragster and Top Sportsman missiles, Marco and his crew have become the first call for those looking for reliable and dependable Driveline products.

Gates open Friday for the weekend event at 2 pm with racing action in the DSE Sportsman Racing Series, Can-Am Stock/Super Stock Association and the Western New York Super Rod Association  starts at 11 am  Saturday and  10 am Sunday. More information on gate times and pricing can be found at www.SportsmanRacingSeries.ca .
