NORTH MIAMI, FL- After spending much of the 2014 season on hiatus, Sunset Speedway Ltd. Late Model regular Sean Grosman has announced he will follow the OSCAAR Super Late Model Tour in 2015.
“The Super Late Models have been pretty high on my bucket list for a while now,” says Grosman. “From the first moment I saw them at Sunset, I knew they were something that I was going to have to strap into at some point”
‘The Frequent Flyer’ has acquired a former Finish Line Fabricating house car from noted Midwestern car-owner Bobby Blount, and is currently in the process of converting the ride to OSCAAR specifications.
“The first time I laid eyes on this car, I thought it looked more like a spaceship than a racecar,” laughs Grosman. “It’s some of the most advanced technology I’ve ever seen. This car is the Mona Lisa. I can’t wait to shake it down”
Although the Super Late Model landscape will be a new experience for the former road racing standout, Grosman maintains many facets of his operation will remain the same.
“Our car will be housed and prepared by Ryan Kimball Racing once again,” says Grosman. “Fortunately, our whole team has committed to being a part of our new endeavor. Ryan [Kimball] will be back as my Crew Chief and spotter, Jamie Sutton will be our Car Chief and Bill Craig will be our jack-of-all-trades”
“I said, right from the get-go, that I didn’t want to move ahead with this project without my team,” continues Grosman. “Most of these guys have been with me since my early days in a stock car. It wouldn’t feel right without them. I’m happy they’re able to come out on tour with me”
Grosman’s 2015 schedule is likely to bring his SMG Motorsports team to a bevy of new facilities; A challenge that the 6-year veteran meets with open arms.
“I’ve raced extensively at Sunset, and have a start at Sauble under my belt already,” explains Grosman. “Everything else will be a brand new experience. The touring aspect is one of the things that drew me to OSCAAR in the first place. I look forward to heading out on the road and spreading our wings a little bit”
“This is a huge deal for my entire family. If it wasn’t for my wife and my sons, there’s no chance I’d be able to do this. I spent almost the entirety of 2014 away from the racetrack with them, and we all can’t wait to be back doing what we love on Saturday nights.”
Sean Grosman’s 2015 OSCAAR Super Late Model Rookie of the Year effort will be supported by For Your Eyes Only of Toronto, The Landing Strip Gentleman’s Club, Flagship Properties, SL Promotions and Rylex Glass & Mirror.
