In the November 15th edition of Spencer Lewis’ Short Track Notebook, we revisit the 2013 Autumn Colours Classic, check in with Peterborough promoter JP Josiasse and visit with Sunset Speedway regulars Sean Cronan and Tyler Johnston.
We recently took the opportunity to add some play-by-play commentary to the 75-lap Ltd. Late Model feature at the 2013 edition of the Peterborough Speedway Autumn Colours Classic. The event, won by divisional standout Dwayne Baker, has been hailed as one of the best Ltd. Late Model races in recent memory. Watch former ‘Classic’ champion ‘Handsome’ Chris Mitchell duel with Baker through the final 10-laps of the event, in a terrific catch-as-catch-can battle. Click here for the full race and to order the complete 2013 Autumn Colours Classic DVD, visit Triben Media’s website here.
Sunset Speedway Ltd. Late Model veteran Sean Cronan (above, by Ashley McCubbin) took the time to chat with us about his 2014 season. The Craighurst, ON driver speaks candidly about the peaks and valleys of his season and looks ahead to 2015 and what he hopes to accomplish at the weekly level. Click here for the video interview and be sure to follow the team via their Cronan Motorsports page on Facebook.
Peterborough Speedway promoter JP Josiasse (above, by Debbie-Jo Zardo) will be in action this weekend at Southern National Motorsports Park’s Mason-Dixon Meltdown. The PASS South sanctioned event will pit the Peterborough, ON native against some of the top Pro Late Model stars of the South. JP’s trip is made possible thanks to The Olde Smoke House, APT Transport, Crowe Boyz Racing and JB Motorsports Insurance. Additional details can be found at www.ProAllStarsSeries.com.
Earlier this season, we caught up with Sunset Speedway Mini Stock competitor Tyler Johnston (above, by Ashley McCubbin). The Holland Landing, ON youngster ran a limited schedule in 2014, after spending the majority of his Summer in Florida training to become a commercial airline pilot. Click here for our interview with Tyler where he chats about his education, his future in the Mini Stock division and his family-run program.
