NORTH MIAMI, FL- Following a head-turning 4th place finish in OSCAAR’s last visit to Sunset Speedway on June 6th, former Ltd. Late Model standout Sean Grosman is ready to build on his performance and work his way to his first career Super Late Model podium.
“You’re never going to hear me complain about going back to Sunset,” laughs Grosman. “That’s my favourite track on the planet. It’s, without question, the place I feel most comfortable at. We’re very happy with the way our Sunset package performed when we were there last”
In the two weeks since his last appearance, Grosman’s SMG Motorsports No. 29 has undergone a series of changes at the hands of Crew Chief Ryan Kimball.
“Ryan found a few things that he wasn’t entirely pleased with, so he’s spent the better part of two weeks tweaking our setup,” explains ‘The Frequent Flyer’. “The amount of work he’s put into this program already has been incredible. The car just keeps getting better under his supervision. Every time it rolls out of the trailer, it feels like Christmas”
“My guys are second to none – I have all the faith in the world in this team,” continues Grosman. “Ryan doesn’t let this car leave the shop unless he knows that we have a shot of making an impact at the front of the field”
When asked of his career-best 4th place finish, Grosman explains just how much it means to run at the front of OSCAAR’s talent-laden field.
“Locking down a 4th place finish in our second ever tour race was encouraging, to say the least,” says the former road course regular. “I have all the respect in the world for the drivers on this roster. These guys are the best around – if you can run in the top-5 on this tour, you know that you’ve done something”
“Another event at Sunset gives us an ideal opportunity to bank some more points before we head out on the road. We’re unloading with the goal of earning a podium finish. To be honest, anything less would be a disappointment for us.”
Sean Grosman’s 2015 OSCAAR Super Late Model Rookie of the Year effort is supported by For Your Eyes Only of Toronto, The Landing Strip Gentleman’s Club of Toronto, Flagship Properties, SL Promotions and Rylex Glass & Mirror.
