STROUD, ON (August 31, 2017)- Ryan Semple had another solid night at Sunset Speedway this past weekend, scoring a top-five finish.
Semple was quick from the get-go, placing third in his first heat, followed by a victory in the second qualifier.
Starting 10th for the 30-lap feature, he began to make his way forward, passing Brandon Psaser for seventh at Lap 7. Semple then passed Herb Walters for sixth at Lap 12, getting alongside Mike Weeda for fifth a lap later. His climb continued as he cleared Weeda at halfway, before passing Johnny Morrison for fourth at Lap 17.
He fell back to fifth with seven laps to go, though did not waste time making up the lost ground, as he made a pair of passes over the next four laps to move up into third. He was able to hold his position until the checkered flag for another solid finish.
So far this season, Semple has been impressive on a weekly basis, with eight top-five’s in 14 races this season. He will look to capture his second feature victory of the year on September 2. It is a Fan Appreciation Night with an autograph session on-track at intermission, so be sure to stop by and say hello.
