STROUD, ON (August 14, 2017)- After going around for a spin during the feature, Ryan Semple rebounded for a top-10 at Sunset Speedway.
Semple started off night solidly, finishing second in his first heat, followed by a fifth-place finish in the second qualifier.
Starting the feature in the 10th position, he began to move up immediately, racing side-by-side for the eighth spot with just five laps on the board. He would continue moving up, running sixth a third of the way through the event. With 13 laps on the board, he would get alongside Chris Allard for fifth, completing the pass three laps later to break into the top-five. From there, he tracked down the next car, set to make a move for the fourth position. However, before he could do so, contact from behind resulted in him going around on Lap 23.
Starting tail of the field with seven laps to go, Semple would rebound for a ninth-place finish.
So far this season, Semple has been impressive on a weekly basis, with seven top-five’s in 13 races this season. He will look to capture his second feature victory of the year on August 26.
