STROUD, ON (June 7, 2018)- The strong consistency that KDR Motorsports has featured throughout the beginning of the 2018 campaign continued at Sunset Speedway on Saturday night, as Ron Quesnelle scored a pair of top-five finishes.
Posting the seventh quickest time in qualifying, Quesnelle started the first 35-lap feature from third following some post-qualifying technical inspection disqualifications. He used the strong starting spot to his advantage, slotting third in line behind the pair of leaders right from the drop of the green flag. He would be challenged for the position following a pair of cautions at Lap 8, slipping back to fourth by the time the third yellow flag waved at Lap 16.
The restart saw the battle resume for third, with Quesnelle passing Mike Wilkinson back for the position at Lap 19. From there, he would be challenged for third once again in the later stages of the feature by Taylor Holdaway, but held on to keep the position for a third-place finish.
Starting sixth for the second 35-lap feature, he moved up into the third spot at Lap 2. He would then get alongside Chad Corcoran for second at Lap 6, completing the pass a lap later. From there, he would try to challenge Nick Goetz for the lead, but was unable to track him down, crossing the finish line in second.
The third and second mean that KDR Motorsports has started off the 2018 campaign with five consecutive top-six finishes. The team will look to continue the momentum on the next night of points’ racing at Sunset Speedway, which will be Saturday, June 9.
The KDR Motorsports’ No. 57 Late Model is proud to have sponsorship from Triplecrete Limited, Hassell Automotive, Emco Waterworks, D&S Collision Centre, Forterra Pipe & Precast, and Fierce Wraps for the 2018 campaign.
