Stroud, ON (May 30, 2017)- Kicking off his campaign in the APC Auto Parts United Late Models of Ontario Tour, Rick Spencer-Walt posted a top-10 finish.
After putting work into the car through the winter, Spencer-Walt unloaded fast, timing in the top-10 throughout practice. The speed carried over to qualifying as he posted a lap of 14.315 seconds to qualify fourth. Though knowing that adjustments were needed, he gave up his top-five starting spot to make those ahead of the 100-lap event.
Starting in last (24th) on the field for the Gumout 100, he avoided the incidents in the early laps of the event ahead of him, cracking the top-10 around the halfway point. He continued to show speed, crossing the finish line officially in eighth.
The next APC Series event for Spencer-Walt Motorsports will be at Flamboro Speedway on June 10.
This upcoming weekend, he will be back behind the wheel of his familiar Limited Late Model on June 3 at Sunset Speedway, set for the third night of NASCAR Whelen All-American Series competition. This year has been successful so far with the Limited, posting a win and three top-fives in six points features, along with a non-points special Spring Velocity feature victory.
Notably, Saturday night is also fan appreciation so be sure to show up early, and get an autograph.
