Mississauga, ON (July 10, 2014) – JSR/Soldier On made gains in their second race of the season in the Lucas Oil Sportsman Cup Series presented by Meineke at Capital City Speedway on July 5, 2014.

The team worked hard in the week leading up to the Summer Sizzler race, and were able to address a number of the issues that they experienced at the Flamboro race the week prior.

With the race being at Johnathan Schwemler’s home track, the JSR/Soldier On team took advantage of the opportunity to work with Paul DeJong’s former CASCAR team in addition to the core JSR/Soldier On crew.

“We ended up using the drag strip and qualifying to diagnose a misfire in the engine, which meant that we started from the back at this race,” commented Schwemler.  “The car was significantly better over last week, and by the 15th lap of the race, we were racing for seventh place.”

While the car was handling better, Schwemler still wanted to improve it if he could.  The team took advantage of a mid-race caution to make some adjustments to the car.

After the restart, the car began to experience overheating problems, and the team worked to resolve the problem and get the car back out on track.  Unfortunately, the engine continued to overheat, and the team decided to park the car for the race.
