(London, ON) August 23rd, 2017 – Pete Shepherd III will have three chances to put his National Exhaust MRE Stock Car in Victory Lane this Sunday, August 27th. It will be the Grand Re-Opening of Canada’s Crown Jewel, Jukasa Motor Speedway. Shepherd is coming back from some hard luck at Flamboro Speedway’s “Gold Rush” event, but he is confident that he can get things turned around and put back on track this weekend.
“It was a lot of fun to get back out to Flamboro Speedway and see so many familiar faces. We had an unbelievable race car, but we had some hard luck, and that’s racing. I think we will be even better this weekend now that I have some laps under my belt, and I really want to put this McColl Super Late Model in Victory Lane,” said the 3rd generation racer.
Shepherd will also have two opportunities to claim an APC Late Model Series win as they will be featuring twin 75 lap events.
When asked about how he felt going into the weekend, Pete had this to say, “They did an exceptional job repaving this track. It’s near impossible to find a bump in it. We worked hard during testing to get our car right. I think we are very close! You can drive the car into the corner really hard and the racetrack has enough bite that you can get the car turned and drive off the corner equally as hard. I can’t thank Tom Baker (National Exhaust) for helping us get these races in. You truly can’t do it without your Marketing Partners!”
This will be the first event held at the 5/8 mile, high speed facility in over 10 years. Practice and group qualifying for all three events will take place on Saturday August 26th. Pit gates will open at 9am and practice begins at 1pm.
Sunday, August 27th is race day for all three 75 lap events. Pre-race festivities begin at 12pm and the first race will begin at 12:30pm.
Our 2017 racing season wouldn’t be possible without the support from National Exhaust, Echo Power Equipment Canada, Shelby Roofing and Sheet Metal, The Grill Paddle, The Whole Pig, BioX Performance Nutrition, Thrustmaster, Fierce Wraps, Cipra Designs, Schultz Manufacturing, Fairway Transport, Load of Rubbish, COJO Sport Collectables, driven4 Apparel, Insta360, Oxford Learning – Byron, Fendrihan, Bridge Force Financial, Epic Race Wear, Mokuyobi, and driven4communications.
