SAUBLE BEACH, ON – The long off-season is finally over for the Outlaws, as the Outlaw Midgets hit ‘The Beach’ this weekend with their season opener at Sauble Speedway. It was a pair of jam-packed days of action, where fans witnessed a mix of veterans dice it up with the rookies. In the end, a driver earned their first win on Saturday, followed by a veteran on Sunday.

SATURDAY
Through the past seasons, Larry Lawson has been inching closer to the front of the field, finding speed with each lap on the track. His experience, combined with the speed built in the No. 84 as seen in years past came together for his first career feature on Saturday night at the beach. Starting inside the top-five, he was able to make his way forward quickly, taking over the top spot on Lap 13 and not looking back from there.
Mike Bradley finished second, followed by Richard Woodland, Wayne McKibbon, Wayne McKibbon, and Rob Harrison. Mikey Homewood placed sixth, followed by Adam Tyo, Wally Wilson, and Jamie Kay. Past series champion Jody Bound would fail to finish as a result of mechanical issues.
The heat qualifier victories went to Wayne McKibbon, Richard Woodland, Larry Lawson, and Mike Bradley.
SUNDAY
After a runner-up on Saturday, Mike Bradley knew he had a fast car, as we’ve seen with past feature wins. He also wasn’t going to be denied on Sunday, as evident by taking the lead on Lap 7 and not looking back from that point en route to victory.
Wayne McKibbon got on the podium with a second, followed by Richard Woodland, Larry Lawson, and Rob Harrison. Wally Wilson placed sixth, followed by Adam Tyo and Jamie Kay. Unfortunately, Jody Bound ran into more mechanical difficulties.
The heat qualifier victories went to Jody Bound, Mike Bradley (x2), and Larry Lawson.
Following the first weekend of the season in action, Mike Bradley will leave the beach with a five-point advantage over Larry Lawson in the standings.
The Outlaw Midgets will return to action for their third event of 2021 on Saturday, July 17 at Sunset Speedway. Due to government COVID regulations, track are only allowed to be at 25% capacity when it comes to attendance. Sunset Speedway will also have their home-track limited Late Models, Mini Stocks, and Bone Stocks in competition that night.
