TORONTO, ON (March 7, 2019)- With the 2019 racing season around the corner, fans are itching to get a taste of what to expect this summer, with many planning to attend the Motorama Custom Car and Motorsports Expo. OSCAAR will be in attendance, and has put together a display to get your blood pumping.
One of the racecars on display will be Rodney Rutherford’s 1961 Biscayne that he will be racing in the Knightworks Design OSCAAR Hot Rod Series this season. The long-time Flamboro Speedway standout debuted the car at Frostoberfest last October, scoring a fifth-place finish in the season finale event.
Over the course of the winter months, Rutherford stripped the car down and updated the interior to allow the car to pop that much more. Mike Westwood Fabrications, who originally helped in building the car, also went to work to give it a more sinister appearance.
Rutherford’s car expands on the OSCAAR display that will also include the three 2018 Series Champions – Cory Horner (Queenston OSCAAR Modified), Tyler Hawn (OSCAAR Hot Rod), and Daniel Hawn (Living Lighting OSCAAR Pro Sprint).
OSCAAR will also be showcasing their brand new 2019 Chevrolet Crew Cab LTZ OSCAAR Pacetruck. The new pace vehicle courtesy of OSCAAR Modified title sponsor Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC features a one-of-a-kind wrap from OSCAAR Hot Rod Series title sponsor Knightwork Design.
On top of seeing these stellar vehicles, the series promises to have additional cars on display, so be sure to stop by and see them all up-close while picking up a copy of the 2019 series schedule.
Taking place from March 8 to the 10 at the International Center, the Motorama show features a bit of everything for both car and racing enthusiasts. From special show features, to guests, there is something for you to do throughout the duration of the event. One of the highlights of the show is the Short Track Night of Champions on Saturday, which will see all three 2018 OSCAAR Champions – Cory Horner, Tyler Hawn, and Daniel Hawn – recognized for their accomplishments.
