PETERBOROUGH, ON (July 21, 2019)- There’s just something about the shows at Peterborough Speedway that brings out the best in teams with the Ontario Modifieds Racing Series, powered by Torque Builders Inc. and Gen-3 Electrical. The tour’s unofficial home track has offered fans some impressive car counts and excellent wheel-to-wheel excitement throughout the years.
“Our group always seems to save their best effort for the dates at Peterborough,” said Rick Warnes – who along with Bill Pickford and Randy Hollingsworth make-up the OMRS team of officials. “Josh Gruntz – with the first victory of any kind in his career – Dwight Brown and John Baker Jr. may have picked-up the main event wins there, but we’ve been averaging more than a dozen entries at the tight, tricky bullring on Mount Pleasant Road and any number of the teams in the starting line-up have the chance to be our next feature race winner.”
Warnes says the point standings are very tight, with the top 6 teams and just over 50 markers apart and about a 20 point difference between spots 4th through 9th. The entire OMRS family is thrilled to see drivers like Bob Franks and Craig Scott taking a turn at the front of the field and leading some laps. They haven’t found the race-winning set-up yet, but because everyone works together on the track and in the pits, its likely only a matter of time before the series has another first-timer in victory lane.
