(FEBRUARY 9, 2021)- Drivers and race teams never stop working. They’re always looking to gain the slightest advantage when the next green flag flies. Even in the dead of winter – with the cushion of freshly fallen snow on the ground and a chill in the air – competitors with the Trailer Plus Ontario Legends Series are making plans for the 2021 season.

“We’re all hoping things will be better this year,” said series official Jeff Drimmie. “Other than a few races, our 2020 schedule fell victim to the coronavirus pandemic. While we still need approval from the provincial government before hitting the track, we’ve started to do our homework to make sure everything is ready to roll. The first step in that process is to come up with a tentative calendar of events.”

As it stands now, Drimmie says this year’s tour will consist of 11 dates at 3 different tracks. Highlighting those shows will be the annual Canadian Legend Asphalt Nationals – August 28th and 29th – at Peterborough Speedway. The venue known as Canada’s Toughest 3rd Mile Oval will also host the group for the 28th running of the Autumn Colours Classic.

“Our drivers are anxious to get back to the track, but I’ll also say everyone is cautiously optimistic,” according to Drimmie. “If the last year has taught us anything its that everything can change, and usually at a moment’s notice. Still, the plan is to kick things off with the season opener Saturday, May 1st at Sunset. Once we get to that point, it’ll be time to start thinking about the rest of the year and the possibility of adding some extra shows to the line-up. We’ll work with the track promoters and within the provincial guidelines to give our fans the best schedule possible.”
