A weekend washout may have wiped out the group’s plans but did nothing to dampen the spirits of the Trailers Plus Ontario Legend Car Series. The planned doubleheader weekend at Sauble Speedway, with the Great Lakes Legends, fell victim to the moods of Mother Nature but, as they say in the entertainment field, “the show must go on.”
On Saturday, August 8th, teams with the popular group head to Central Ontario for the first of a pair of dates over the next three weekends at Peterborough Speedway. Brian’s Towing presents a night of Legend Car action, along with the KOD Disposal Ontario Bandoleros. The venue on Mount Pleasant Road has been the site of some of the season’s most exciting finishes.
Former series champion Adam Cuthbertson picked up his first checkered flag of the year on Saturday, July 18th with an exciting last-lap pass of Matt Haufe. Undaunted, Haufe took advantage of a break on his Ontario Legend Car Series agenda a week later and returned to Peterborough Speedway on Saturday, July 25th to claim his first career win with the OSCAAR Modified Series.
In addition to the Ontario Legend Car Series and Ontario Bandolero events, the Saturday, August 8th line-up will also include the Silver Wheel 100 presented by AF Automotive Fluids for the Ontario Sportsman Series, along with the home track Bone Stock and Late Model divisions. Kid’s Barrell Races will be the track’s intermission attraction. Grandstand gates open at 5:00 p.m., with the first Great Canadian RV green flag at 6:00.
