SOUTHAMPTON, ON- After rattling off a 6th place finish at Sauble Speedway in Round 1 of the Sauble vs. Sunset ‘Home and Home Series’, Nick Goetz looks to Round 2 at Sunset Speedway as an ideal opportunity to earn his first career feature win on home soil.
“It feels like we’re taking a step towards our first Sunset win every single time we hit the racetrack”, says Goetz at a recent testing session.
“The competition here is incredible. Just breaking into the top-10 at this track tells you that you’ve done something”
This Saturday, July 26th, Goetz – along with the rest of the Sunset roster – will welcome the Sauble Speedway regulars for the 50-lap finale of the popular mini-series.
“I remember the first time I came down here as a Sauble regular, how intimidating the place was”, smiles Goetz. “It’s a different racetrack. Very difficult to get the hang of. Because of that, I can’t help but feel that the Sunset cars have a large scale advantage”
“Between Sauble and Sunset, I think we have a huge percentage of the best Late Model drivers in the province. A win against a field like that would mean the absolute world to me”
‘Livewire’ will carry additional support into Saturday’s event, thanks to his recently announced partnership with Arctic Spas of Collingwood.
“I can’t wait to introduce Tim and Sara from Arctic Spas to the sport”, says Goetz. “I might be more excited for that than anything else this weekend. They’re fantastic people, and I can’t even explain how much I appreciate their support”
“They’ll be with us for the rest of the season, so hopefully they can be our good luck charm and help us pull off our first win at Sunset”, adds Goetz with his trademark grin.
Details for Saturday’s 50-lap event can be found at www.SunsetSpeedway.ca.
