September 17, 2014- Nexen Tire has geared up its marketing activities in the Czech Republic to elevate its brand awareness in the market by sponsoring one of the top Czech ice hockey teams.
BK Mlada Boleslav, which competes in the country’s top league Extraliga, one of world’s top ten ice hockey leagues, will be sponsored by Nexen Tire for two seasons starting from 2014/2015 until 2015/2016.
Ice hockey is one of the most popular sports in the Czech Republic, and BK Mlada Boleslav has a time-honored reputation of competing at the highest level in the sport since its foundation in 1908.
Nexen Tire’s brand will gain brand exposure from the sponsorship deal through advertising on the stand, the fence, the player bench and the team members’ helmets and uniforms at every home match this year, as well as virtual ads.
Last June Nexen Tire announced that it would build a new plant in the Czech Republic as part of its plan to expand its global production base and penetrate into the European market. With a view to consolidating its local presence, Nexen entered into an agreement with the Czech government regarding inward investment.
Meanwhile, the company’s LED advertising campaign is now up and running at selected stadiums of Europe’s four major football leagues – Premier League, Bundes Liga, Premera Liga and Serie A- and Nexen Tire as a brand is involved in many other sports marketing activities to strengthen its brand power in the region.
