Two time winner in last year’s NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Robin Buck will return to defend his wins at Circuit ICAR & the Grand Prix of Trois Rivieres in 2012. Buck is pleased to announce that once again he will drive the #66 Quaker State Dodge at all of the series road course events this season. Partnering with the Campbellville, ON driver once again this season is Quaker State Motor Oil. “Our association with everyone at Quaker State is very special and has grown from an idea to a major relationship” explained Buck. “This season they have involved more of their departments in the racing program and it’s very exciting” he added.
It was a breakthrough year in 2011 for the #66 Quaker State Dodge pilot as he claimed his first two wins in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series and the prospect of greater success in 2012 has he and the team very excited. “We were always competitive at the events in previous seasons but didn’t quite close the deal” said Buck. “Last year we took the final step up to the top of the podium and our whole group is confident we can do it again” he added.
Over the winter months the #66 Quaker State Dodge team has been busy with preparations for the coming season. “Our last race in Montreal wasn’t up to our standards from earlier in the year and that’s kind of stuck with everyone” said Buck. “We’ve gone through the entire race car and made some improvements and tested them on the track” he added.
The first on track activity for the #66 Quaker State Dodge was a pre season test session at the newly named Canadian Tire Motorsports Park, formerly Mosport. The series also makes a return to Edmonton as part of the Indycar weekend in July. “I’m really happy to be headed back to Edmonton and I’m looking forward to the challenging new track layout” said Buck. “After our test day we made our final preparations and at this weekend’s first race we’ll unveil a new look to the race car as well”.
Robin Buck will compete in all five road course races on the 2012 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Schedule. Buck is the defending champion at Circuit ICAR & Grand Prix of Trois Rivieres. Race fans will be able to watch all of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series events in High Definition on TSN. Check local listings for times.
