Louis-Philippe Dumoulin will begin his first complete season in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series this weekend in Bowmanville, Ontario. A road course synonymous of success, it is with confidence that he will be at the wheel of the n°47 WeatherTech Canada/Bellemare car. The 2011 Rookie of the Year NCATS champion will be at the wheel of a Dodge Challenger (Chassis-Leavitt 2010) : “The practice sessions on May 10th went well. We were amongst the fastest. There were a lot of caution flags but in a short period of time we were able to make several improvements to the car. We are satisfied with the performance of the car and are looking forward to take the wheel this weekend,” he mentioned.
The Quebecer will have to use a very technical strategy on track as well as during the pit stops: “There will a lot of technicalities, the challenge will be to save the tires while anticipating caution flags. Our main objective is to qualify well, to be at the head of the group and compete for victory,” explained Louis-Philippe Dumoulin.
The Canadian Tire Motorsport Park is a very familiar track to the Dumoulin brothers that are well versed on it as takers of several checkered flag in various series, as well as private driver coach. As a mather of fact, Jean-Francois Dumoulin will be at the track coaching starting on Thursday (Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Series).
