Mother Nature is not a race fan. For the second time in 2 weeks, Kawartha Speedway’s 2012 season finale has been postponed due to inclement weather forecast for the area. Speedway promoter/general manager Derek Lynch says he understands the frustrations being experienced by race teams and fans.
“It’s upsetting for everyone, but there isn’t too much that can be done,” said Lynch. “Our goal is to give everyone a full show. To get things started and then have to call it due to rain wouldn’t be fair to anyone. We’re committed to finishing out the year and rewarding our track champions.”
Looking at the upcoming schedule, Lynch and the Kawartha Speedway team have decided that the best available date would be Friday, September 28th. The full race program from Friday, September 7th – with the exception of the Ontario Legends – will be moved to the new date. Pit gates will open at 3:00, with racing at 6:00.
