LONDON, ON- After a pair of early-season victories at Flamboro Speedway, Matt Pritiko will enter Round 4 of the APC Six Pack Series in search of another extended distance win at the challenging 1/3-mile bullring.
“With all the success we’ve had there this year, it’s pretty tough not to get excited any time a Flamboro event pops up on our schedule”, smiles Pritiko.
“Prior to this season, we hadn’t really turned a lot of laps there. When the Six Pack Series was announced over the off-season, we made it a priority to bring our Flamboro program up to speed. It’s taken a bit of time, but we’ve hit on some combinations that have really brought this car to life”
While Pritiko has yet to win an APC Six Pack Series event, he has two wins in Grisdale Triple Crown action at Flamboro, and hopes to utilize what he’s learned already this year to his advantage in the 100-lap event on July 26th.
“Competing in the Triple Crown series definitely has us ahead of the game”, explains Pritiko. “I’m far more comfortable at Flamboro than I’ve ever been before, and all the data we’ve been able to pull from our two wins here gives us a pretty solid idea as to how our car will react in an extended distance race here”
The current Delaware Speedway weekly point leader has had his fair share of success during the APC Six Pack Series, and will enter Round 4 of 6 eager to follow-up on a 4th place finish in his last outing at Delaware Speedway.
“Round 3 at Delaware was probably one of the most fun Late Model races I’ve ever been in. There were 4 of us battling for the lead on the last lap, and it really showed just how competitive this division is”
“We’re 2nd in Six Pack Series points right now, but a strong run at Flamboro can boost us into the points lead, so that’s definitely what we’re looking to accomplish”
Known for his success in long distance events, Pritiko is quick to explain that finding the right strategy at Flamboro may not be as straight forward as it seems.
“There’s a fine line to figuring out the right way to approach a race like this at Flamboro. Traditionally, the track is tough on tires and brakes, so you want to make sure to preserve your equipment as best you can. However, you don’t want to hang back too long and risk being caught in someone else’s mess”
“We’re hoping to qualify well, work our way to the front early and just ride early on. If we can click off some laps in the early going and save our stuff, it’ll make it a lot easier to put together a late-race run”
