SAUBLE BEACH, ON (August 24, 2017)- While the night started off well for Luke Gignac at Sauble Speedway, it shouldn’t didn’t end how ADAMS Motorsports envisioned.

Gignac started off the night fast, sweeping both heats to bring his qualifier victory total to five thus far this season.

Starting eighth for the feature, he immediately began to make up ground, running fifth in the early stages of the event. He would avoid a spin by a fellow competitor to move up to fourth, set for another solid run.

Through the middle portion of the feature, Gignac ran solidly in the top-five, poised for another strong run as he was right there with the race leaders all race long.

However, on the final restart of the event with six laps to go, the pair of leaders were battling hard and closely, and ended up making contact. Unfortunately, Gignac was left with nowhere to go, and got caught up in the wreck.

As a result, he would be credited with 12th-place for his first finish outside of the top-10 this season.

His success this year allows him to stay close in the points, though, as he will enter the next event sitting second in points, just four markers behind A.J. Emms.

ADAMS Motorsports and Gignac will be back in action at Sunset Speedway on September 23 and 24, as part of the track’s Velocity 250 weekend. Stay tuned to OSCAAR’s website (http://www.oscaar.ca) and Sunset Speedway’s website (http://www.sunsetspeedway.ca) for details surrounding the event.

ADAMS Motorsports is proud to be supported by PBS Motors and Pumps, Fox’s Bakery and Deli, OTD Building Supplies, Wolseley Canada, Dave Wiggins Custom Exhaust, Heritage Heating, Wix Filters, TSS Top Shops, Morton Metals, and Dwinnells Family Movers.
