Trois-Rivieres (Quebec, Canada) – July 14th, 2013. Objective achieved. Behind the wheel of the #47 WeatherTech Canada/ Bellemare Dodge, Louis-Philippe Dumoulin has crossed the finished line in fifth place yesterday on the Motoplex Speedway track in Vernon, British Columbia, and is now enjoying first place in the NASCAR Canadian Tire series standings.
In 2012, the Quebecer had demonstrated his ability to compete with the series’ veterans, and this year he is proving to be a worthy opponent and a serious contender for victory.
Second on the starting grid (18.395), the driver of the #47 WeatherTech Canada/ Bellemare Dodge skillfully drifts between the first and fourth places. Having led the A&W Cruisin The Dub 300 event for sixteen laps (148th to 163rd), an unplanned pit stop relegated him to ninth position, with a lap down (200th lap). Let’s take note of the enthusiasm and strategic collaboration between Tyler Case (crew chief), Warren Jones (spotter) and the mechanical team, the whole group joining forces with Louis-Philippe Dumoulin has allowed the driver to cleverly make his way to the leaders of the race and cross the finish line in the top-5, his personal record on oval track to date.
“The #47 WeatherTech Canada/ Bellemare car was the fastest on the track on several occasions during the race. We had put everything in place to end up on the podium and things are looking good for the rest of the season. We were able to overtake many opponents during restarts, which is something that says a lot about the car’s performance. I had a lot of fun and it was encouraging because we could push forward on all fronts,” explains Louis-Philippe Dumoulin.

The second and last stop in Western Canada will occur this Wednesday July 17th on the site of the Auto Clearing Motor Speedway (Saskatoon, Sask.), known for being a fast and highly-technical track. Once again, it is with determination and consistency that the #47 WeatherTech Canada/ Bellemare team wants to perform to the level of its major partners.
“We want to come back as strong in Saskatoon, and the important thing is to distance our competitors by gaining more points. Getting the maximum amount of them each time we have an opportunity and finish the races in the leading pack are our main objectives,” mentions the Dumoulin Competition driver.
