Lowdown Hot Rods Season Opener Set To Hit The Track At Toronto Motorsports Park This Weekend

@TMPracing • CAYUGA, ON (June 5, 2015) – Racers from all over Ontario and Western New York will be heading towards Cayuga Ontario this weekend as the fourth championship season in the DSE Automotive Sportsman Racing Series is set to get underway with the Lowdown Hot Rods Season Opener.

The  Season Opener will feature two full days of racing for seven categories of bracket cars including, Jr Dragster, Street Eliminator, Super Bike/Sled , Quick 16, Super Pro, Modified and the newest class added to the series  for this season Street Bike Eliminator.  In-addition to the seven bracket categories, race fans will also be able to enjoy fantastic 10.90 Index racing   courtesy of the Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series, and their event sponsor Ian Hill Racing/RPM Magazine.

Also taking place during the Season Opener will be the 2nd Annual Mike Marshall Memorial Shoot-out  on Saturday evening. The Shoot-out will feature  a line-up of 16 competitors racing for over $1000 in prizes.  Competitors will be chosen via a raffle. Racers can enter the raffle by buying a $20 raffle ticket where $10 from every ticket will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society.  In 2014 The Mike Marshall Memorial Shoot-out helped raise over $1200 in donations for the Cancer Society.

Gates will open at 9 am Saturday morning with time trials/qualifying commencing  at 11 am and eliminations to follow around 1 pm Sunday gates open at 9 am with time trials/qualifying starting  at 10 am and eliminations to follow around noon.

The DSE Sportsman Racing series was formed in 2011 racing season as a way to promote grassroots level sportsman drag racing in Southern Ontario. Entering in its 4th full season, the series will run  events with six Championship Sportsman classes ranging from Super/Pro and Modified, to Super/Bike & Sled, Street Eliminator, Jr. Dragster and  Quick 16 Program.
