MISSISSAUGA, ON – Johnathan Schwemler, Owner and Driver of the #31 Lucas Oil Sportsman Cup Series (LOSC) Monte Carlo for Johnathan Schwemler RaceCars (JSR) will be taking the fight for the Rookie of the Year Title down to the last lap of the season finale at Flamboro Speedway this coming Saturday, October 5, 2013.
The last race at Flamboro Speedway set up an incredible finale race for the season, with Schwemler holding onto the lead in the Rookie Title chase by a paltry four point buffer. He holds that lead over fellow driver Kevin Allen in the #54 Transport N Service car.
“That last race was a tough one for us. We had a spring mount shear off in practice, which we quickly repaired at the track. That repair really showed the strength of the JSR team, as they got the job done quickly. From there, we qualified a respectable eighth, and we were really excited about our prospects for the race. We had a really good car underneath us and knew we could be competitive. However, we got caught up in a multi-car wreck, which took us out of a top-five spot. That wreck set us back, and then we had a small flash fire in the car. In the end, we finished several laps down and in thirteenth place. Lucky for us, Kevin didn’t escape unscathed either. We kept the lead in the Rookie Title chase, so we’re happy with that.”
Schwemler owes a great deal of thanks to his sponsors for his opportunity to fight for that Rookie Title. He is currently sponsored by Nivek Holstiens, Core Racing Skinz, Concept JR, Darcy King of Royal Lepage, and Lincoln Electric. In addition, for the final race of the LOSC season, Schwemler is thrilled to have Tirecraft and Solider On/Sans Limites join in supporting him.
“As a member of the Canadian Armed Forces, I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to represent Soldier On/Sans Limites and to make race fans aware of the important work that Soldier On does for our visibly and non-visibly injured soldiers. I’m also excited to welcome Tirecraft to the JSR fold.” Schwemler stated.
Of the upcoming “down to the wire” fight with Allen, Schwemler is planning to work hard for the Rookie Title.
“I wish Kevin all the best. He’s been a really good guy, not only by helping us to stay in the Title chase but also by racing us clean all season. As much as I respect him, I still want to beat him fair and square for that Title. I’m going to take that Title chase all the way.”
