(RIVER GLADE, NB – May 26th, 2019) – Marcel LeBlanc (Bouctouche, NB) and Mike Duskey (Albany, PE) started their seasons off on the right foot by winning their respective feature events Saturday at Petty International Raceway. The A.E. McKay Builders Late Model Sportsman and the Street Stock house divisions, along with the Passione Flooring & Interiors East Coast Mini Stock Tour, were a part of the Lucas Oil 150 Season Opener for the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour on Saturday afternoon.

For LeBlanc, the win was his first feature victory in the A.E. McKay Builders Late Model Sportsman division. LeBlanc inherited the lead after contact between Neal Crawford (Salisbury, NB) and Luc Bourgeois (Memramcook, NB) on a restart with three laps to go. Crawford, who was also in search of a breakthrough victory, grabbed the lead early in the race after Jordan Veinotte (Porter’s Lake, NS) and Kenny MacKenzie Jr (Salisbury, NB) spun while fighting for the top spot.

MacKenzie Jr. would rebound for second in the 60-lap Late Model feature, pressuring LeBlanc for the victory in the final two laps. Justin Beers (Moncton, NB) completed the podium.

Mike Duskey (Albany, PE) had to endure a final restart with just three laps remaining to hold on to the Street Stock feature victory. Duskey was pressured early and often by Miramichi, New Brunswick’s Brad MacLean but held off the No. 13 for his first victory of the season. Nick Cudmore (Goshen, NB) brought the No. 87 home in third with Ryan Richard (Saint John, NB) and sophomore Brandon Carter (Moncton, NB) completing the top five in the 50-lap feature.

Dave Matthews (Kennetcook, NS) waged war with Jesse Deveau (Greenwood, NS) over the second half of the Passione Flooring & Interiors East Coast Mini Stock Tour feature. The two ran over a dozen laps side-by-side in the second half of the caution free, 60-lap feature before Matthews was able to pull away late in the race. Former Late Model competitor Dave Timmons (Inverness, NS) made the haul from Cape Breton worth it at the end of the night by squeaking by Deveau for second. Deveau held third after working the outside line most of the race. Mike Edwards (Penobsquis, NB) and rookie Shay MacPhee (Yarmouth, NS) rounded out the top five.

The AE McKay Builders Sportsman, Street Stock and Passione Flooring & Interiors East Coast Mini Stock Tour did not run qualifying heat races on the afternoon.
