GRIMSBY, ON- After opening his 2013 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series campaign with a spirited runner-up performance at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park, Fastline Motorsports’ Jeff Lapcevich has been counting down the days to Round 2 of the season, scheduled for June 15th at Delaware Speedway.
“I can’t wait to return to Delaware”, said Lapcevich. “We’ve always fared well there, and I feel as though with all the work and upgrades that we’ve made to our oval package over the offseason, we’ll have a car capable of contending for the win by the time all is said and done”
The Grimsby, ON veteran will ride a wave of momentum into the first short track event of the season, after piloting his #76 Tim Hortons Dodge to a second place finish on the road-course at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park in the season opener on May 19th.
“CTMP was exactly the way we wanted to start our season. [Crew Chief] Chris Couvillon and the rest of our team worked so hard on our cars over the winter, and I was thrilled to be able to give them a strong run. We know what we need to do at Delaware, and our whole team is excited to unload on Saturday morning”
Lapcevich is familiar with Delaware’s tricky half-mile confines – he finished third in the 2010 event – and is quick to acknowledge how unforgiving the London, ON-area oval can be.
“Delaware is one of the most unique tracks our series competes at all season. You have to drive both ends of the speedway completely different, and equipment preservation is incredibly important if you want to be at the front when it counts”
The EMCO 200 is scheduled to take the green at 7:00pm on Saturday, June 15th. Fans can find additional information, including gate times and ticket prices, at www.DelawareSpeedway.com.
