@PMRA_Q32 • @GBMotorplex • GRAND BEND, ONTARIO (May 17, 2015) – Two former series champions won the opening rounds in the Quick 32 Sportsman Series and the Pro Bike & Sled Series.

The two drag race series were part of the Leaf Racewear Spring Blowout presented by Rocksedge & Veloce Italian Kitchen at the Grand Bend Motorplex over the weekend.

In the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, two-time champ Kevin Wicke drove his Top Sportsman Dodge Stratus to an event win while in the PBSS, presented by Wiseco Performance Products, returning champ Dan Cryderman rode his Suzuki to victory.

Wicke, of Stratford, Ontario, qualified fourth in the field for the K&K Racing team. He eliminated Lui Ramundo of Welland, number one qualifier Marc Gervais of Sudbury, ran a single, and took out Tom Stuart of Chatham to win in Top Sportsman.

On the Top Dragster side, number seven qualifier Dan Zygmont of Chelmsford made rounds through the field, eliminating Scott McCann of Stratford, Mike Everitt, also of Stratford, and number two qualifier Glen Vardy of Burlington to win his first Top Dragster race.

Zygmont met up with Wicke for the event final, but started too soon at the line, red-lighting and giving the win to Wicke.

Glinny qualified fourth with his Pro Bike Kawasaki, taking out Mike McKay of Newmarket, Pro Bike rider and number one qualifier John Orfanidis of Toronto, and Pro Sled rider James Goudreau of Sudbury to meet up with Cryderman in the final.

The PBSS final was a close race, but Cryderman got out first with a .025-second reaction time to Glinny’s .087, and the 2014 champ took a winning 8.172, 151.08 pass over Glinny’s 8.455, 153.03.
