Saint-Eustache, QC, July 5, 2017 – Kevin Lacroix will be back behind the wheel of his #74 Bumper To Bumper/ Total/ Go Fast / PFC Brakes/ Gates Corporation car in the NASCAR Pinty’s series on July 8 for the ECKO Unlimited 75 presented by Continental Tires at Circuit ICAR.
This road course race comes at the right time for Kevin who experienced mechanical issues with his oval car. Although he did not get the expected results in the last two races, constancy allowed him to stay second at the driver’s championship, right behind the leader.
It is at Circuit ICAR, on the tarmac of the Mirabel airport, that Kevin scored his first victory in the Canadian NASCAR series in 2015. In 2016, Lacroix had finished on the third step of the podium, because of mechanical issues. “This year, with my car prepared by team Bumper To Bumper, I intend to repeat my 2015 victory,” said the Saint-Eustache driver.
The track will be different from the past few years as the drivers will now be using the short track. Fewer corners, more chances to pass, this initiative by Circuit ICAR is meant to bring the field closer and to offer a great show to the audience. In addition to changing the track, the event will now be held on a single day, and the race will take place at 7pm for 75 laps.
“We already practiced on the short track and I am very comfortable with this layout,” explains Kevin. “There will be a lot more action than in the past! The race should have been on the short track from the beginning.”
Kevin wants to thank his sponsors Bumper to Bumper, Total, Go Fast, PFC Brakes and Gates Corporation, a partnership between growing companies that represent excellency, ambition and victory. “We are more than ready for the next two races in the NASCAR Pinty’s series!” concludes Kevin.
