Sauble Beach, ON (June 28, 2017)- The title defense for Kevin Bridge has begun wonderfully, as he picked up the victory this past Saturday night at Sauble Speedway.
Bridge started off the night wonderfully, finishing second in the first heat after having to start 10th. He would then lead every lap in the second qualifier en route to the victory, making him the top qualifier on the night.
Starting eighth in the feature after the inversion, he would make his way through traffic up to the third position by the halfway point. He solidly ran there till when two laps to go, race leader Will Gibbons had ignition issues, slowing down. Bridge made the decision to go low around Gibbons going into turn one, and it paid off as he passed both Gibbons and Gary Jones to take the lead. He then led the rest of the way en route to scoring the victory.
Bridge will be back in action at Sauble Speedway on Friday, June 30 as part of their Canada Day weekend special.
