LOUDON, NH (September 21, 2019)- DJ Kennington and the #17 Castrol Edge Dodge team once again showed plenty of speed and delivered another strong finish during round number 12 of the 2019 NASCAR Pinty’s Series at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, NH on Saturday afternoon. Kennington claimed a third-place finish at the only series event outside of Canada and moved into fourth in the overall championship standings.

Kennington was quick right from the beginning of the Friday afternoon practice session and posted the second quickest time in the #17 Castrol Edge Dodge and then backed it up on Saturday morning with the second fastest qualifying time to earn a front row starting spot.

“We’re good, car felt really solid right off the truck, and that’s always a good sign” said Kennington.

When the green flag waved for the 100-lap event Kennington kept the #17 Castrol Edge Dodge near the front of the field without pushing too hard in the early going. When the caution flag waved Kennington came to pit road for fuel and would start back in the field.

“The fuel mileage was really tight, and we weren’t going to chance running out late” explained the driver. “We knew our car could race back to the front” he added.

As the race returned to green Kennington quickly began moving the #17 Castrol Edge Dodge forward and back into the top five. On the final lap Kennington was running fourth when contact between two cars ahead of him allowed Kennington to slip through and claim a third-place finish.

“That’s a good day for us” said Kennington after the race. “Running fourth, it got a little crazy on the last lap, you don’t want to see that, but it worked out for us to pick up another spot. Great job by the whole Castrol Edge team, and thanks to everyone that helps us out. We wanna get back in the winner’s circle next week at Jukasa like last year” he added.

DJ Kennington and the Castrol Edge Dodge team will wrap up the 2019 season at Jukasa Motor Speedway near Hamilton, Ontario on Saturday September 28th.
