@AndyKamrath35 • @PtboSpeedway • INNISFIL, ON- Short track veteran Andy Kamrath is ready for his first career Autumn Colours Classic behind the wheel of a Mini Stock. The former Ltd. Late Model regular has experienced a career resurgence in the talent-laden division, winning both editions of Kawartha Speedway’s ‘Mini Stock Nationals’ in addition to Sunset Speedway’s $2,000-to-win ‘Frequent Flyer 50’ already in 2014.
“We’ve had an awesome year so far,” smiles Kamrath. “The best possible way to finish it off would be a win at ‘the Classic.”
“I’ve been close to winning so many times in a Late Model, and it was just never meant to be,” continues Kamrath. “I want a ‘Classic’ win more than anything in the world.”
‘The Instant Classic’ is hoping for a bounce back weekend, after a win at Sunset Speedway’s ‘Velocity 250’ invitational on September 28th was reversed following post-race technical inspection.
“We were disqualified for having three washers free floating on the right rear shock shaft,” explains Kamrath. “It wasn’t an illegal shock – simply three washers.”
“We’ve made the changes that tech has requested and we’re good to go for ‘the Classic’,” continues the Innisfil, ON. “We’re confident we’ll have something for the front runners at Peterborough. With or without the washers.”
The 50-lap Mini Stock contest is expected to draw front runners from across Ontario – something Kamrath welcomes with open arms.
“The parity in the Mini Stock division is what makes it so exciting to be a part of,” says the Sunset Speedway regular. “Nothing motivates me more than rolling into a pit area and seeing drivers from every track in the province. I know that a strong run this weekend isn’t going to be easy, but this team has never been afraid of a little hard work.”
