CHESLEY, ON- Continuing a recent hot streak that began at Sunset Speedway in early May, second-generation star Josh Stade charged from his mid-pack starting position to win Sauble Speedway’s weekly Ltd. Late Model feature on June 13th.
The win marked the second of the season for ‘Prime Time’, but was the first on home soil – after winning Sunset Speedway’s season opener on May 2nd.
“This has been the best start to the season we could ever have hoped for,” beamed Stade post-race. “These guys have worked so hard for the last six months. This is amazing”
“After the way we struggled at the beginning of last year – we knew how badly we wanted to hit the ground running this season,” continued Stade. “That was our goal, and we’ve definitely accomplished it so far”
The performance marked Stade’s first night back at Sauble after several scheduled nights off for the Ltd. Late Model division – in which the Chesley, ON-based driver spent earning back-to-back top-15 finishes on the hotly contested APC United Late Model Series.
“We haven’t had a lot of laps to fine-tune our Ltd. Late Model in the last few weeks, with all the time our Pro Late Model has taken up,” admitted the popular up-and-comer. “So, to come back and have it respond this well right out of the box is incredible”
“Brian [MacDonald] gave us something brand new to work with tonight and it paid off huge,” added Stade. “This car drove like a dream”
For the rising star, the victory was compounded by family members and sponsors in attendance at his home track.
“We’ve had some really good runs out on the road this year – but it means so much more to be able to do it at home,” smiled Stade.
“My entire family was in the pits tonight. To perform this well in front of them and our sponsors means the absolute world to me. This car hasn’t had a night where it’s finished outside of the top-5 – now we just have to get back in the shop and find a way to keep that streak going.”
Marketing support for Stade’s 2015 season is provided by Upper Canada Title, FLO Enterprises, Nicol Insurance, Barclay Wholesale, Jim Cavil Fuels, MEI Paving, Bruce Service Sales and Rentals, APC and Kunkel Bus Lines.
