STROUD, ON (May 8, 2018)- After struggling a little in the first feature, the JL Motorsports team was able to rebound for a top-five in the second on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway.
Racing on the 10-inch tire for the first time, the handling of the No. 90 Late Model was a little off in the first feature, seeing Latimer run mid-pack throughout en route to a 13th-place finish.
Making some adjustments before the second feature, Latimer quickly began to move up from the 13th starting spot to run eighth as of Lap 5. He would miss an incident at Lap 12, to move up to sixth under the third caution. Although he dropped back to seventh on the initial restart, he’d avoid another accident with seven laps to go to run sixth.
He was then able to make a pass on the final restart, crossing the finish line in the fifth position.
Latimer will be back at Sunset Speedway this coming weekend, May 12, for the first 60-lap feature of the season.
JL Motorsports is proud to be supported by DDC General Contracting, RIM Chassis, KICX 106, 104.1 The Dock, WIX Filters, Creechers Design, Kruger’s Electrical Service, Tax-$mart, and Kitchen Tire.
