Stroud, ON (May 16, 2017)- Battling a loose racecar, Jade Franklin would just miss posting a top-10 finish on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway.
The third-year driver started off the night solidly with fourth-place finish in his first heat, followed by a seventh in the second qualifier.
The re-draw for the feature played into his favor, as he’d start the main event from the fifth spot. On the drop of the green flag, he began to move forward, passing his Jaded Motorsports teammate Robbie Sikes on Lap 3 to move up into third. He’d remain there until the first caution of the event on Lap 9.
The restart didn’t work out in his favor as he’d get kicked to the top side of the track, fading back to sixth by the halfway point of the 30-lap feature. He continued to battle hard, but the fall continued, falling outside of the top-10 with four laps to go en route to finishing 11th.
After scoring 11 top-10’s last season and finishing 10th on opening night, Franklin will hope to put together a solid run in this weekend’s Spring Velocity at Sunset Speedway.
Jaded Motorsports continues is proud to be supported by Duienvoorden Haulage, Lloyds Haulage, Nitro Industrial Sales, Adco Tire, Kings, North River Motorsports, Orvauto and Polished Automotive for 2017.
