December 1, 2014: A new Drag Racing Series, featuring the region’s quickest and fastest drag race cars, has been formed, and will see action at two tracks in 2015.

The new Series, known as the “ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN” presented by NAPA Auto Parts / Ideal Supply, will be presenting two classes of high speed racing action. The first will be the Pro Modified class, featuring the quickest and fastest door cars in drag racing. The Pro Mod drivers will be vying for a spot in their eight car qualified field, with high payouts going to the winners, and qualifiers. The second is designed for Top Sportsman and Top Dragster entries in a 32 car qualified field. The two styles of race cars will compete individually with the winning dragster racing the winning door car for some of the highest payouts ever.

The three race Series begins in July at Toronto Motorsports Park, as part of the “Canadian Nitro Nationals”. In August the Series proceeds to Grand Bend Motorplex, for the “Stratford Spectacular – Hot August Nationals”, and returns in September for the Labour Day weekend “Thunder by the Beach” event.

Each “ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN” race will pay $10,000.00 to the winner of the Top Sportsman vs. Top Dragster final. Round money is paid out from the second round, with a current minimum of $24,000.00 being paid out at each event, including qualifying bonuses, and contingencies.

The “ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN” Top Sportsman and Top Dragster Class, also offers a Championship points program, for drivers who wish to compete for a season-end title with $10,000.00 going to the Series Champion, plus cash and contingencies going to the top 5  finishers in the points program.

The “ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN” Pro Modified teams and drivers will have their own Championship points program as well. Again each of the top five drivers in the final points standings will share cash, and contingencies totaling several thousands of dollars.

This Series will bring together some of the best Top Sportsman, Top Dragster and Pro Modified drivers from both Canada and the United States. Including race event payouts, plus contingencies and special bonuses, the Top Sportsman & Top Dragster Classes will pay out over $100,000.00 in the 2015 racing season. Pro Modified Class Payouts are still to be finalized.

The new “ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN” Drag Racing Series, presented by NAPA Auto Parts and Ideal Supply, is operated by a group of Pro Modified and Sportsman racers, dedicated sponsors, and experienced race promoters. The intent of this series is to provide a fun, organized, family friendly atmosphere where people can race for higher payouts.

Series Directors, Peter Hyde, Dan Gueguen, Jim Roth, Steve Martin & Larry Satchell will be working to grow the Series into a larger program with more events in years to come.

Racers such as Bruce Boland, Jeff Roth, Scott Wildgust, Tony Positano, Spencer Hyde, Dan Flanigan, Travis Gueguen and many more have already expressed their committment to run the entire Series. To add your name to the growing list, or for more information, please email info@napashowdowns.com.
