After earning a runner-up in the 60-lap Thunder Car portion of Barrie’s ‘Garry Reynolds Memorial’, Dave Doucette has announced he has filed entry for this weekend’s (September 28th & 29th) Velocity 250 at Sunset Speedway. ‘The Deuce’ is riding a wave of momentum that saw him compile a 3-race win streak to close out the 2013 regular season at Barrie, finishing 2nd in the speedway’s championship point standings. Doucette will join Barrie regular Travis Hallyburton, multi-time Sauble winner Todd Davenport and Sunset standouts Randy Rusnell, Lane Zardo and Paul Geniole Jr. Sponsorship for Doucette’s trip to the Velocity includes GD Coates Suzuki, Xtreme Auto Machine, Carline of Alliston and Paint by Watson. Varney Speedway Motorplex veteran Scott Way (above, by Donna Tolton) has confirmed he will compete in Flamboro Speedway’s upcoming Oktoberfest Classic on October 5th & 6th. Way missed the entirety of Varney’s 2013 season, but will campaign his at Oktoberfest as well as Flamboro’s season-ending Frostfest event on October 26th. Late Model standout Andy Kamrath (above, by Thompson Photography) recently filed his entry for Peterborough Speedway’s upcoming Autumn Colours Classic on October 11th, 12th and 13th. ‘The Instant Classic’ will compete in both the Ltd. Late Model and Pro Late Model divisions for the second straight season. Kamrath recently offered his preview of Ontario’s Crown Jewel, including what drivers he feels will be his greatest competition and what a win would mean for Kamrath and the entire Streamline Race Products operation.
