In the March 29th edition of Spencer Lewis’ Short Track Notebook, we unveil OSCAAR Super Late Model sophomore Kelly Balson’s new look, take a sneak peek at Miles Tyson’s ride for the 2015 Sunset Speedway Mini Stock schedule, chat with APC United Late Model Series driver Josh Stade and profile the latest driver to recommit to Ohsweken Speedway’s Mini Stock division.

Here’s our first look at London Recreational Racing team member Kelly Balson’s ride for the 2015 season. The Hampton, ON driver will return to the OSCAAR Super Late Model Tour for a sophomore campaign, in search of his first career tour victory. Over the off-season, Balson confirmed that he would once again welcome back Crew Chief Graham Flett, but would also work closely with GTA Racing Design founder Graham Annis on a fulltime basis. Balson’s return to OSCAAR competition will be made possible thanks to Mike Schmidt’s London Recreational Racing, Cochrane Automotive, Bennett Chevrolet Cadillac of Cambridge, Castrol and GTA Racing Design. Fans can keep up Balson’s progress throughout the season by following @LondonRecRacing on Twitter or by logging on to the all-new Kelly Balson Racing page on Facebook.

Sauble Speedway rising star Josh Stade (above, by Ashley McCubbin) recently took part in the Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo at Toronto’s International Centre. The Chesley, ON driver appeared as part of an autograph signing and information session for the upstart APC United Late Model Series presented by Grisdales. Post-show, we caught up with Stade, and asked for his thoughts entering the 2015 season. ‘Prime Time’ tells us all about his busy schedule, his newly acquired chassis, what his hopes are for the Summer and where he sees the new tour headed. Marketing support for Stade’s 2015 season is provided by Upper Canada Title, FLO Enterprises, Nicol Insurance, Barclay Wholesale, Jim Cavil Fuels, MEI Paving, Bruce Service Sales and Rentals, APC and Kunkel Bus Lines. Ohsweken Speedway Mini Stock competitor Lucas Lubin has sent us a sneak peek of his off-season preparations. The Hamilton, ON-based driver will once again return to Friday night competition at ‘The Big O’, with hopes of earning 2015 championship honours in what has become one of the most talent-laden entry level divisions in Ontario. Lubin’s full-time schedule will be made possible thanks to the support of Car Owner and Crew Chief James Egerland, Eggz Custom Fab and The Local Skate Shop.
