Here’s our first look at Sunset Speedway Late Model competitor Nick Goetz’s brand new look for the 2015 season (vinyl wrap by ImageWraps.ca). ‘Livewire’ will pilot the freshly built McColl Racing Enterprises chassis in all NASCAR Whelen All American Series events at Sunset Speedway this season, as his NG Motorsports team joins over 30 others in vying for the NWAAS Ontario championship. The 2014 Peterborough Speedway ‘Chase for the Colours’ winner will look to utilize the speedway’s weekly double feature format to hone in on his first career Sunset feature victory in just his second full season of competition at the Innisfil facility. Crew Chief duties for Goetz’s 2015 effort will be handled by veteran Rick McColl. Marketing support for the team’s return to Sunset will be provided by Lake Huron Rod & Gun, Great Lakes Concrete, Mondo Car Wash, Boston Pizza of Port Elgin and Owen Sound, Super 8 Motel, Lord Elgin Fish & Chips, Rosners Service Centre of Port Elgin, Roberto’s Pizzeria, Austin Graphics and ImageWraps.ca. Short Track veteran Terry Baker has sent along an ‘in progress’ look at his newly acquired Pro Late Model. After spending the bulk of the 2014 season with the OSCAAR Modified Tour, Baker acquired this Junior Hanley-built chassis from former Flamboro Speedway champion Paul Howse over the off-season. Baker will compete in select events with the upstart APC United Late Model Series presented by Grisdales, in addition to special events at his former home track – Flamboro Speedway. Baker’s long-awaited return to Late Model competition will be made possible thanks to the support of Baker Performance of Hamilton, Ohsweken Speedway, Fastline Motorsports, NAPA (Barton Auto Parts Group) and EPIC Racewear. Hoosier Stock veteran Pete Reid has sent along these ‘in progress’ photos of his preparations for the 2015 season. The Stevensville, ON driver will return to Merrittville Speedway on a fulltime basis, and will compete in select special events at Humberstone, Ohsweken and Flamboro throughout the season. Marketing support for Reid’s season will come from Performance Toyota and Astro Transmission of Niagara Falls. Reid’s first event of the season will be at Merrittville on May 2nd for Pinty’s presents the 64th Lucas Oil Weekly Racing Series Championship Chase Kick Off. Here’s a previously unreleased interview with former Mini Stock standout Kevin Bridge (above, by TW Robarts Photography). The Kincardine, ON driver will chase the Thunder Car Rookie of the Year title at Sauble Speedway this season – after unveiling his new ride at last weekend’s Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo. However, Bridge has recently confirmed that he will make selected Mini Stock appearances this season, with his first start targeted for Sunset Speedway’s ‘Spring Velocity’ on May 16th and 17th. Bridge will carry sponsorship on both his Thunder Car and Mini Stock from LiUNA, Huronview Insurance, Spira Fire Protection, DK Daniel Kelly Custom Woodworking, Castrol, Saugeen Shores Transmission, ImageWraps.ca, EPIC Racewear, Bridgehaven Angus, Gilcrest Speed & Custom, Walt Fabrication, NGK Spark Plugs, DEI and Permatex. Here’s a look at Pro Late Model rookie Trevor Collver’s ride for the 2015 season. The Lucan, ON driver – a former standout in the Delaware Speedway Truck and Super Stock division – will follow the APC United Late Model Series presented by Grisdales this Summer. Collver is one of 5 rookies registered for the cross-province tour.
