In this Inside Track Motorsport News Ontario Short Track Notebook, Spencer Lewis updates the 2013 plans for racers Kevin Bridge, Paul Maltese, Brittney Gresel and Sean Grosman.
Here’s a look at multi-time Sauble Speedway Mini Stock feature winner Kevin Bridge’s brand new build for the upcoming season. Bridge’s impeccable Honda CRX will run fulltime at Sauble, though the Owen Sound, ON driver has confirmed his plans of an aggressive touring schedule that will see him tackle the Sauble-Sunset home and home series, Barrie Speedway’s Garry Reynolds Memorial in September, Sunset’s Velocity 250 weekend and Delaware Speedway’s ‘Open Ontario 4 Cylinder Championship’ in October.
Bridge will work with marketing partners Spira Fire Protection, LIUNA Local 1059, Huronview Insurance, Hanover Auto Centre, Bamp Property Maintenance, J&D Signs, Bridgehaven Angus Farms, NGK Spark Plugs, Vortex Brake Pads and NAPA Auto Parts of Kincardine.
Former Sunset Speedway champion – and 2013 title contender – Paul Maltese has sent along these images of his new look for the upcoming campaign. Maltese spent the entirety of 2012 working through setup issues with his freshly built chassis, and enters 2013 with a binder full of notes and close to two decades worth of experience.
The Alcona Beach, ON veteran, alongside his wife Susan, will return to Sunset with their family-run team with support from Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Crime Stoppers, Curbex Signs, South Simcoe Police, Ontario Steel Sales Inc. and Maltese’s own Presto Appliance Repair.
Second-generation Limited Late Model competitor Brittney Gresel will unveil her new ride when Sauble opens up its 2013 season on May 18th. The Hepworth, ON driver took time to send along shots of her new entry, a chassis last campaigned by her brother, former Delaware Speedway champion Andrew Gresel.
Brittney will look to compete for her first career Limited Late Model championship, with sponsorship from Sauble Falls Tent & Trailer Park, Crowsnest Pub of Tobermory and the Alzheimer’s Society. Brittney will also make select appearances at Sunset Speedway throughout her 2013 campaign.
Fourth year Limited Late Model competitor Sean Grosman has released images of his 2013 ride this week, allowing Inside Track first glance at his stunning new vinyl scheme provided by Newmarket, ON-based Knightworks Designs. The Golden Beach, FL native will once again run the entirety of the Sunset Speedway schedule, in search of his first career stock car championship.
‘The Frequent Flyer’ will commute from his home in South Florida to the speedway each weekend, racing out of the same shop as 30-time champion Stompin’ Tom Walters. The former road course standout will enjoy sponsorship from SMG Motorsports, Flagship Property Ventures Corp, Rylex Glass & Mirror, The Landing Strip Gentleman’s Club and For Your Eyes Only. Grosman hopes to begin testing within the week, and will make his debut alongside fellow title hopefuls Walters, Dwayne Baker, Mike Bentley, Andy Kamrath and Chris Morrow when the Sunset season kicks off on May 4th.
