December 2, 2013- When Jon Mills and the Hot Lick Racing completed their first season in 2012, many people had taken note of the improvements the team made from the beginning of the season until the end. As the 2013 season approached the team set goals to finish in the top five in points, and to win at least one feature event.
The first few weeks of the season were tough, but once they rolled into June, Mills became one of the most consistent drivers over the course of the season. From June until early August, Mills put together a streak of eight consecutive top ten finishes at Brockville. They also posted their first career Sportsman win at Cornwall Speedway on August 11th and backed that up with their first Brockville Speedway victory just two weeks later on August 24th.
“We are happy with our season for sure”, says Jon Mills. “We set our goals at the beginning of the season and accomplished all of them. Next year is going to be even better”.
The Hot Lick Racing team plans to increase their schedule in 2014. They will race weekly at Brockville Speedway on Saturday nights, as well as other select events at Mohawk International Raceway and Cornwall Speedway throughout the season. They also plan to follow the entire Mr. DIRTcar Sportsman series schedule which tentatively begins at Mohawk International Raceway on Sunday, April 27th.
