GRAND BEND, ON (August 10, 2017)- Grand Bend Speedway will play host to the Shelbourne Fuels Western Ontario Legends Tour and the London Recreational OSCAAR Pro Midget Series this coming Saturday night presented by U.S. 131 Motorsports Park.
The night also includes special qualifying for the four weekly divisions competing. The Jr. A & B sprints, Jr. Late Models and Mini Trucks will be qualifying by Time Trials. The competitors are excited to explore this format as training for future racing endeavors.
Shelbourne Fuels Western Ontario Legends
The Legends were originally slated to open the season in June at Grand Bend Speedway but weather forced a change in the schedule. Since then the series has been to Delaware, Sauble, and Full Throttle. The teams will have their work cut out as they will have raced the night before at Delaware, which is the largest track the series heads to and then convert the cars over to a set up for the smallest track on the circuit. Series regulars Josh Indig and Brandon Thurlby won the two recent events at Full Throttle Motor Speedway, while Eastern regular Robin Jogen was victorious at Sauble, and South Carolina’s Randy Gunton took home checkers from Delaware.
London Recreational OSCAAR Pro Midgets
The first official event on the schedule for The LRR OSCAAR Pro Midgets at Grand Bend was affected by the same weather that moved the Legends Series schedules around. This weekend’s event will be the return of the tour and looks to be a fun night of racing. Grand Bend Speedway Alumni litter the roster with Cassidy March, Brent Kemps, and McKenzie Hamilton in the field and they hope that will be somewhat of an advantage.
Fans are encouraged to spend the day in the popular beach town, then spend the evening with the speedway. Green Flag for the evening is set for 7:00pmwith the Time Trial Qualifying events.
