HALTON HILLS, ON- Road course ace Gary Klutt will return to the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series this weekend, when he hits the track at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park for Pinty’s presents the Clarington 200 on Sunday, August 31st.
“Canadian Tire Motorsport Park is one of my favourite tracks on the circuit, so it’s always an exciting time when we’re prepping to head back there”, says Klutt.
The second-generation star will be back at CTMP for the first time since earning a 7th place finish in the 2013 edition of the track’s Labour Day-weekend event.
“We had a fantastic car for this race last year”, says Klutt. “It was my best career NCATS finish, so I’m very much looking forward to building on what I learned last year”
“As quick as we were last year, I feel as though I’m a more complete racer this time around. With all that I’ve learned this season, I think we stand an excellent chance at improving our results”
The Pinty’s presents the Clarington 200 will carry special significance for Gary, as it will mark the first time that he will race alongside his Father Peter and Brother Ryan in NASCAR Canadian Tire Series competition.
“No matter what happens on the track, the fact that all three of us will be out there is going to be the highlight of the weekend for me”, explains Klutt. “I owe my career to my Dad. He’s taught my brother and I everything that we know. For all of us to be racing together – that’s incredible”
“I’ll be working extra hard to keep them both in my rearview mirror”, adds the personable 22-year old with a smile.
Klutt will enter the event with hopes of attaining his first career NCATS Top-5 finish, after a pair of impressive road course performances at Circuit ICAR and Circuit de Trois-Rivieres earlier this year.
“I can’t say enough about the hardworking guys at Legendary Motorcar or the incredible marketing support I’ve received from Canadian Title Loans (CTL)”, offers Klutt. “None of this would be possible without their help. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to find myself aligned with some fantastic people this year, and it’s helped us bring our program to a new level. We’re as good as we’ve ever been, right now. And we’re excited to showcase just how far we’ve come, this weekend at CTMP”
The Pinty’s presents the Clarington 200 is scheduled for August 31st at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. Gate times and ticket prices can be found at www.CanadianTireMotorsportPark.com.
