@Merrittville •Wednesday September 7, 2016 THOROLD, ONTARIO – Merrittville Speedway’s 2016 Lucas Oil Weekly Karting Series Season concluded Tuesday September 6th with a number of firsts.

Making their first visits to St. Catharines Discount Auto Parts Victory Lane were Jacob Mamo and Aiden Lavalllee.

Mamo in his first year of racing won his first Vansickle PetValu Novice 1 Feature. Mamo is the youngest son of former Saturday Night racer Dave Mamo.

Lavallee – a rookie in the RCM Racing Equipment Junior 1 Division is the grandson of former Saturday Night Racer Ron MacAulay

In other Performance Manufacturing Divisional action, two drivers both won their 6th Features of the season. Cohen Corbett’s 6th win in the Tim Phillips Garage St. Catharines Discount Auto Parts Novice 2 Division was his 3rd straight win while John Farnan Lindberg’s 6th Cassell Manufacturing Senior Fun Division was his 2nd in a row.

Second generation racer Donny Lampman won his 8th Ed MacPherson Construction 2 Division Feature while Dalton Slack took home his 11th win in the Superior PetroFuels Junior Restricted Division.

Dylan Culp won his fourth Wilder Racing Engines Senior Animal Feature.

In the final point standings – the 2016 Awards Banquet set for Sunday November 27th will honour 4 new champions.

Owen Kaiser and Dalton Slack each won Championships in the RCM Racing Equipment Junior 1 and Superior PetroFuels Junior Restricted Divisions as rookies.

Donny Lampman won his first title in the Ed MacPherson Construction Junior 2 Division as did Travis Majuery in the Wilder Racing Engines Senior Animal Division.
